The work at Rocketship HQ
Q1. What are three 3 words that you would use to describe yourself?
Imaginative, Spontaneous & Empathetic
Q2. What drew you to RocketShip HQ originally? How has the company changed since?
After working with a publisher/media company and then moving to the client side, I wanted to join an agency to gain a comprehensive understanding of the advertising and marketing ecosystem. I was also motivated by the opportunity to develop performance marketing strategies for a diverse range of global clients, spanning both the mobile app and e-commerce sectors, and to contribute to creating innovative creative strategies.
Q3. What do you like about your job?
I’ve primarily worked in Marketing Operations, managing campaigns, obtaining approvals, and coordinating with vendors and agencies. While I enjoyed that work, I wanted the chance to dive into the creative side and contribute to developing creative advertisements.
Q4. What has been your proudest moment at Rocketship HQ?
In my first week, I was tasked with creating video ads for a client in the mobile gaming industry. It was challenging, and I doubted myself throughout the process. With Nevena’s guidance, I managed to create scripts I felt good about, but I kept second-guessing myself due to imposter syndrome. So, when the client liked them, I was over the moon! I hadn’t expected it and felt proud for a few minutes! 😉
Q5. What is a typical workday like for you?
I start my day by updating my to-do list, then focus on operational tasks like follow-ups and check-ins with team members and stakeholders. I spend the second half of the day on creative tasks, such as scriptwriting and research, and wrap up with any remaining operational work and scheduled calls.
Career journey
Q6. What was a key inflection/turning point in your career?
I was initially unsure whether I belonged in Sales or Marketing until I worked for a Hong Kong-based expert network firm for two years. While I enjoyed the client-facing aspect of the role, it didn’t feel fulfilling. During that time, I discovered my passion for creating content, shaping perceptions, and running marketing campaigns through watching videos and consuming related content. Switching to Marketing was challenging, but I’ve never looked back!
Q7. Tell us about a mentor or a person who has inspired or influenced you significantly.
I have two key mentors. The first was my manager from a sales role who truly understood me and pushed me to become a top performer within my first three months. He was both supportive and motivating, and I learned more from him than I did during my two years in an MBA program.
The other is a content creator I admire, @zoeunlimited on YouTube. She explains social media and marketing concepts using pop culture references, making her content both innovative and informative. I’ve learned more from her than any marketing textbook could offer.
Q8. What are some of the key lessons you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Pivot – We live in a time where things change dramatically every 2–3 years. You can’t keep doing the same thing and expect the same results. It’s essential to keep trying new things, even if it’s challenging or you fail at first.
Imagine – Never stop yourself from imagining. Every night, I spend a few minutes thinking of solutions to problems and brainstorming ideas for business and content. I don’t pressure myself to act on every idea, but this habit consistently helps with both work and personal projects.
Discipline – For me, discipline isn’t always about strict schedules. Instead, I start my day by writing a to-do list, catching up with team members, tidying up my workspace, making coffee, and setting a rough plan for the day. This routine always helps me stay productive.

Q9. Tell us about your favorite travel & food spots or experiences (feel free to include more than 1).
Hanoi, Vietnam – For the warm hospitality of the locals and the incredible coffee—the best I’ve ever had!
Innsbruck, Austria – For its breathtaking beauty.
Mcleodganj, Himachal Pradesh, India – For its rich food and vibrant culture.
Q10. What do you do for fun?
I love swimming, dancing, reading, and writing.
Q11. What are the top items on your bucket list?
1. Live temporarily in a major city outside of India, like New York, London, or Paris, to experience life there.
2. Write a book, whether poetry or a novel.
3. Create handcrafted wallets or bags from leather.
Q12. What is a fun fact about yourself that not many people might know?
I was part of my college street dance team at Xavier’s in Mumbai. We performed at IIT Bombay’s prestigious Mood Indigo festival. We didn’t win, but it was the biggest competition I’ve been a part of. I also enjoy participating in debates on philosophical topics.
