If it isn’t already obvious, Himanshu loves astronomy and is working on ticking off the items in his bucketlist one after the other. At Rocketship HQ, he takes care of User Acquisition and works with the mobile marketers to drive users to an app.

Q1. What are three 3 words that you would use to describe yourself?

Q2. What drew you to RocketShip HQ originally? How has the company changed since?
I heard about Rocketship from my mentor who was friends with Shamanth. Fell in love with the no nonsense culture.
Our team’s communication is improving internally and externally. We are also taking up more creative projects, which is great.
Q3. What do you like about your job?
Everyone is direct, data-driven and up for technical challenges.
Q4. What has been your proudest moment at RocketShip HQ?
I worked on one of the reports that required analysis and projection using a model. This involved a lot of focus and rigor which I enjoyed.
Q5. What is a typical workday like for you?
My typical workday involves building reports, doing analysis and creating executive summaries.
I point out issues that may have come in and share opportunities if any.
Career journey
Q6. What was a key inflection/turning point in your career?
Changing my first job after which I was introduced to structured digital marketing campaigns.
Q7. Tell us about a mentor or a person who has inspired or influenced you significantly.
Shamanth knows all about Byomkesh. Apart from him, Anuj Gang had a great influence on me. He built a great knowledge center which I used as a foundation for my knowledge.
Q8. What are some of the key lessons you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Continuous learning is very important
Punctuality is key
We have to learn to work with roadblocks. Everything will not be smooth.

Q9. Tell us about your favorite travel & food spots or experiences (feel free to include more than 1).
Favorite travel spot – Powai lake. It is hard to find a quiet place in Mumbai but its boundaries have some great spots.
Best experience – In 2013 I was lost for about 8 hours around Panvel in a place with barely any people. I enjoyed the experience and I think I love getting lost in unknown places.
Q10. What do you do for fun?
Read East Asian literature like Manga and light novels
Watch fantasy tv series and anime.
Q11. What are the top 3 items on your bucket list?
See total solar eclipse on 8 Apr 2024, visible only in Canada, USA and Mexico. Have to visit one of those three places.
See total solar eclipse on 12 Aug 2026, Visible only in Iceland and Spain.

Q12. What is a fun fact about yourself that not many people might know?
I am an amateur astronomer. Wanted to be a full time astronomer but they don’t get paid much.
